The Nairobi National Park is the only park in the world that is located in the capital city. Nature and animal lovers can enjoy game drives, picnics, nature trails including one in the famous 2.5km Nairobi nature walk for a great view of the animals. The wild game includes: Cheetah, hyena, hartebeest, impala, crocodiles, zebra, giraffe, lion, leopard, buffalo, wildebeest, ostrich, the Black and white rhino.
Also Located in the Nairobi Nation park is the Nairobi Animal Orphanage which offers a safe haven for the rehabilitation of wild animals. Various animals that have been rescued include :-leopards, cheetahs, warthogs, jackals, various monkeys, baboons, hyenas, porcupines and several birds, peacocks, crested crane, ostriches, and Guinea fowl.

KAREN BLIXEN MUSEUM
Karen Blixen Museum is a colonial-era house, where Baroness Karen Blixen lived with her husband. The Oscar winning movie “Out of Africa” was based on Karen Blixen’s life in Kenya, based on her autobiographical book. The house was built in 1912 and bought by the couple in 1917, and it became the farm house for their 4500 acre farm, of which 600 acres was used for coffee farming. A visit to this museum provides an opportunity to step back in time and gain an insight into this remarkable woman’s life. Views of the Ngong Hills can be admired from the beautifully landscaped gardens of the museum.



SHELDRICK WILDLIFE TRUST
Dame Daphne Marjorie Sheldrick is the brain child behind Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT). Orphaned /endangered wildlife find solace in this shelter. From aerial rescue operations that enhance anti-poaching, wildlife veterinary services, community awareness and safeguarding the natural environment. Sheldrick wildlife Trust has done a commendable job in protecting endangered wildlife by instituting a shelter for orphaned elephants, rhinos and even giraffes.



GIRAFFE CENTRE
The Giraffe Centre is the creation of the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife
(A.F.E.W. Kenya), a Kenyan non-profit organization. Their main purpose is to educate Kenyan school children and youth on their country’s wildlife and environment, as well as give local and international visitors an opportunity to come into close contact with the world’s tallest species, the giraffe.
